This is a commission for Marie, who among things that she liked mentioned mermaids and narwhals. Naja here is an icemaid, but she is at least a cousin of the mermaid! Her cetacean pal’s name is Nunatak.
They DO love adventuring, so perhaps they have wandered too far south after all.

I Want to Be Your Canary

I love that Final Fantasy IX. There is a particular scene where Dr. Tot (the guy who looks like a Dr. Tot) helps Eiko (the little girl) write a love letter to someone who has no interest in her whatsoever. The letter falls into the wrong hands and then 3 other people, none of whom the letter was meant for, think that someone (besides Eiko) has a secret crush.
Eiko’s earnestness makes her one of my favorite characters in a game chock full of wonderful characters. She’s cute because she’s honest, not because the designers tried to make her cute. More video game designers need to take notes from Final Fantasy IX!
